Read to Succeed is the title of our program focusing on illiteracy. Sami2 Ministries purpose is to partner with under privileged families from the community attending kindergarten up to high school. Our goal is to be able to start teaching adults how to read too. During the summer, we sponsor a Summer Reading Program at the Boys and Girls Club. During the Summer Reading Program, Children from kindergarten to 4th grade are taught to read. At the end of the program each child is awarded a T-Shirt advertising the program, certificates, activity books, and backpacks filled with supplies for the current school year. Focusing on illiteracy helps a child or adult obtain confidence in themselves, maintain good grades, obtain a higher education, become marketable for better jobs, and become strong and productive citizens of the community.

Gail Pittman - Founder/CEO

Gail Pittman is a resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She has an understanding of literacy and have a great appreciation of what it takes to truly play an intricate part in assisting Sami2 Ministries make a difference and continue on a path of progress. Besides that, she is a graduate of Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master degree in Business Administration. Ms. Pittman is also a published author. The title of her book is “Single and Making it.” S-A-M-I are the letters used to form the name of her non-profit SAMI the number 2 Ministries. Sami2 Ministries is not a church. Sami2 Ministries is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Our main focus is youth and adult illiteracy. Currently, we are a small organization with a large caring spirit, plenty of room for growth with no cap on our growth. During the summer, we sponsor a Summer Reading Program, "Read To Succeed." Mission Statement: Sami2 Ministries assists with illiteracy, provides food for the hungry, water for the thirsty, comfort and clothes for the stranger. We provide for the least of our sisters, their children, and our local communities in Christ.

Matthew 25: 34-40 (KJV)
